One of the most popular types of charters are family charters. Many families will do a family vacation, a anniversary cruise, a family reunion cruise or wedding cruise.

This is ideal way to see the Galapagos Islands when you want to have a true "family-experience". This is an excellent option for multi-generational families and may often be the only way for smaller children to be able to go on a cruise. Since there are no other passengers on board - the cruise experience is completely devoted to you and your families interests. Meals times may be modified to cater to you. On some boats it's possible with advance notice it is possible to gain national park permission to alter the boats itinerary. Most importantly the guide is guiding for YOU. This means if you want longer hikes, shorter hikes, more time snorkeling or kayaking - you just need to let them know.

Student groups or alumni groups are another group that frequently charters boats.
